Reflections on Psychic Education

To recapture the magical aura and silence of the IEP class on psychic education and put it in words has proved to be very challenging.

As I walked this luminous morning under the gaze of the glorious rising sun, and the silence and beauty of nature, an ardent prayer went up to the Divine Mother to make us open and receptive to Her as the children are navigated through this important chapter of IEP.

The best plan for this lesson would be not to have any and let Mother do the planning and executing. In the resplendent light of the Sun, in the flowers awakening to its rays, in the leaves quivering in delight and in the trees climbing towards its light were the clues to introduce the children to this psychic spark, to this divine growing within which we must find and unite with.

The flowers are very psychic, says the Mother and when one is receptive to their vibrations, they put one in contact with the psychic within. Just like the flowers are children whose intense psychic vibration is very apparent in the light in their eyes and in their beauty, openness and spontaneity.

They are indeed as this Bahai prayer says: " These children are the plants of Thine orchard, the flowers of Thy meadow, the roses of Thy garden".

It is this, which draws me like a magnet to the IEP lessons. It is wonderful to sit in this atmosphere, learning and listening and going back happy and content on an afternoon spent well. The ways of Mother are mysterious and unfathomable, this Sunday afternoon, I found myself in the middle of these beautiful children, who were eager, enthusiastic, receptive and attentive.

It was clear that Mother would be the moving force behind this class, she would be the captain of this ship and we, her happy oarsmen steering the ship as she wished, there are no teachers in this ship, as Jayanthy said, only learners.

We sat in a circle with a lamp bearing Mother's symbol in the middle shining brightly surrounded by beautiful conscious hibiscus flowers and sought answers for these questions:

What is the psychic?

How does one find and unite with it?

How to establish this living communion with the Divine?

When is one's action in tune with the psychic?

The Divine is a flower, The Divine is Light, The Divine is Everywhere, The Divine is in me, The Divine is here, The Divine is in us, they said.

How do we find the Divine within? They asked.

If you aspire and want it above everything else you will find this light within you, which will "rule your thoughts and fill your body and life". But you must want it as much as a drowning man wants air.

We spoke of the uniqueness of the human form, of how with this form, we can stand up, look at heaven, at the stars and with folded hands in prayer, seek, aspire and find the Divine.

We spoke of the Divine as one's Mother, caring, as loving and who exists in us, is there everywhere in the smallest of small atoms.

We concluded by gathering in a close circle with each child lighting a lamp and placing it around Mother's lamp with ardent prayers for Her presence and Grace and for awakening the psychic light and for being with us on this special day.
