| Towards progress in Integral Education
On 21st August 2005, we began the second year of the Integral Education Program. Seventeen children have enrolled in the course this year, with 12 new students and 5 returning. A very significant occasion it was, with the number of children being the same as the number of petals in the Mother's symbol.
But even more significant were the quietude, silence and peace with which the activities were carried out. We began the session with five minutes of meditation, followed by the reading of Mother's "A Prayer for Students"-
O Lord,
Make of us the hero warriors we aspire to become.
May we fight successfully the great battle of the future that is to be born
Against the past that seeks to endure;
So that the new things may manifest
And we may be ready and receive them.
Introductions were made, the little ground rules laid, the importance of meditation and silence reinforced, and we began with a short orientation game. Once the ice was broken, we split the children into four groups, with two facilitators for each group. Each group was asked to come up with a group name and three rules that the group would follow through the year.
Thus Cooperative-Six, Phoenix, Sunflower and Suns came into being. Each of these groups will, over the coming year, form a tight circle, a support group which among other things will help its members achieve the three personal goals set for them by answering the following questions:
1. What is one thing you want to learn during the coming year?
2. What is one habit you want to break by the end of the year?
3. Tell us one thing that you already know, but want to improve upon over the year.
Over the coming weeks, the personal responses to each of these questions will be fine-tuned and plans will be drawn up in order to achieve these goals. With the lessons on physical, vital, mental and psychic education, the individual and the group will lead one another on a journey towards self-discovery in integral education.
The Integral Education program aims to be an adventure. As such, both inward and outward excursions will be organized, and discoveries made at every step as awareness grows of the presence of the ultimate goal, the Divine Truth. We pray that these young ones will be "hero warriors" who will seek to discover themselves in this adventure called IEP, pierce through the veils, and be ready to receive the new consciousness.
